Dream Wife

On the cover of their current album, the British trio appears aggressive in a martial arts pose, but the riot-grrrl offensive is no longer Dream Wife's only mode. The band now mainly plays dance rock with muted guitars, which for the singer Rakel Mjöll Leifsdóttir is no reason to forego liberating screams. Dream Wife succeeds in melodic mid-tempo pieces as rousing as anything punk volleys that burn to the ground. The band started as an art school performance project, but then they got so much fun that it became their life.
